Collecting art as a viable financial concern has become increasingly important to the modern day investor. There are countless articles in the media that give direction as to how to start an art collection i.e. browse galleries, buy what you like, etc however it can sometimes be daunting for collectors who are, more often than not, bombarded with too much information. Clients who have an existing collection and wish to dispose of artworks can do so through COMODAA in a discreet and professional manner. Various avenues for liquidity are available such as private treaty, auction and consignment through a gallery.
Other services for clients include advice on framing artworks, installation and hanging, shipping and transportation (we only use specialist art shippers), lighting and photography of artworks, conservation/restoration and insurance.
Collectors who require appraisals and valuations of Australian art can do so through COMODAA as we only use the services of the members of the Cultural Gifts Program, Dept of the Arts, Canberra.
Certain established and top-tier artists will have an auction price history that enables COMODAA to provide market information on these artists for collectors. There are various reports available such as price indices, bought-in lots per year, average price per year etc that COMODAA can provide. It is worth noting, however, that not all artists have enough market history to warrant this information.
